Good morning people who do good to others
Sometimes we complicate life. Sometimes our focus is on doing something amazing for God while often His desire is that we simply do good to others.
Luke 6:9 Then Jesus said to them, “I ask you, which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?”
It’s not difficult to do good to others.
Sure, it’s not always convenient. We have plans and people’s needs often interrupt our plans. But then we have a choice. Am I going to do what I want right now or meet someone’s needs?
Now I’m not saying that we must always put ourselves aside. In fact, that is some people’s problem; they never take time for themselves. If that is you, I encourage you to love others as you love yourself. Give yourself permission to enjoy life and have some fun. You can’t truly love others if you don’t love yourself.
But for many of us the challenge is somewhat different. It’s easy to become too selfish in life. There are needs all around us, needs waiting to be met by you and by me. I don’t want to be too busy serving God that I don’t take the God-given opportunities to love Him by loving others.
This year I purpose to do good to everyone I meet. How about you?
