#5795 – Every Act

Good morning people who see every moment as an opportunity to pray.

I heard the Lord say, “Every act is an opportunity to pray.”

Now, let’s remember that prayer is the privileged opportunity to talk to and listen to God. Prayer is an act of intimacy between lovers. Yes, that is intimate language, but we need the reality of prayer to be restored in our lives. It is not just a one-way rote monologue for the purpose of us getting what we want. Prayer is much more than that.

Prayer is engaging with the Divine. Prayer is hearing the heart and the voice of God through active and engaged listening. Prayer is offering to the Lord our requests from the foundation of equal friendship and dependence. Prayer is the highest privilege of the believer; the children of God.

So, let’s return to today’s statement.

I heard the Lord say, “Every act is an opportunity to pray.”

When you wake up in the morning, it’s an opportunity to pray.

When you sit to eat and drink, it’s an opportunity to pray.

When you get ready for your business meeting, it’s an opportunity to pray.

When you receive that distressing phone call, it’s an opportunity to pray.

When you sin and you stumble and fall, it’s an opportunity to pray.

When you feel close to God in pure peace and joy, it’s an opportunity to pray.

When you lay your head down at night, it’s an opportunity to pray.

Right now, it’s an opportunity to pray.
