#5717 – Avoiding Destruction

Good morning people who live in the freedom that is found in following the laws of God.

Proverbs 5:3-4 MEV For the lips of an immoral woman drip as a honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil. But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.

Now we’re getting real in BIY. So, let’s go there.

Not everything that looks good or feels good is good. Oh, how this truth needs to be proclaimed loud and clear!

There’s a terrible song that includes the line, ‘if it makes you happy, it can’t be that bad’. It is straight from the pit of hell!

Scripture repeatedly warns us to be aware of that which can destroy our lives. One of these often-stated warnings is against immorality. I feel the heart of Father right now. My prayer is that you will too.

God is not out to ruin our fun, but to make us holy and to keep us free. The world believes the opposite about God, but let’s not buy into that lie.

Everything God made is good, including sex. But He designed it to fit into His prescribed parameters – between a husband and a wife. We don’t define the parameters, we simply choose whether we will honour them or not. Equally, we don’t choose the fruit and the consequences – they simply are a reality according to the laws of God.

I urge us as the body of Christ to honour and fully submit to the Christ of the body. His desire is abundant life, and abundant life is found in Him and through Him according to God’s pattern, design and declared will.

Let’s keep in mind the words of Jesus as He expressed the following truth:

John 10:10 MEV “The thief does not come, except to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Sex outside of marriage will destroy you. Honouring God will be your protection.
