#5708 – Trust Obeys

Good morning people who trust God enough to obey Him no matter what.

Proverbs 3:5-6 MEV Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.

This is one of my most often quoted scriptures, and yet it can be one of the most challenging ones to fully live. It’s easy to say, but it’s not as easy to do.

Trusting God is something that every believer does. But I feel it is safe to say that most of us (if not all of us) trust God to a certain degree but not fully. Or maybe it is that we trust Him in certain areas but not in others, well, at least not completely.

But there is an invitation from the only perfectly faithful One to trust Him with all of our heart.

And He makes it clear, that in order to be able to trust Him fully, we must let go of our need to understand everything. Ouch, this is where it gets real.

Maybe it’s true to say it this way: Because we can’t let go of the need to know, we can’t fully trust God with the unknown.

Again, it’s easy to say we do, but what is the fruit of our lives in the times of questioning and contradictions?

So, how do we know that we trust God with all of our heart?

Well, one of the evidences that we do is we acknowledge Him in all of our ways and we follow His direction and lead regardless of the way the path looks.

Trust looks like full obedience no matter what.

Trust looks like Jesus’ words in the time of His greatest anguish of soul:

Luke 22:42 MEV “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me. Nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.

In other words, “Father, if You say it, I will do it.”

May this be how we live our life too.
