#5707 – Mercy and Truth

Good morning people who find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Proverbs 3:3-4 MEV Do not let mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart, so you will find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Continually we see the law of sowing and reaping throughout the Book of Proverbs. It is easy to focus on the sowing part, but we must never lose sight of the reaping part as well. Both are important, and both are essential.

Mercy and truth are a big deal to God. It’s not just mercy, and it’s not just truth. It is always mercy and truth.

And we must intentionally bind them around our neck and write them on the tablet of our heart. In other words, keep them both constantly before us and in us. Feed on them. Embrace them. Live by them.

The result of doing this is so delightfully wonderful: so you will find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

Receiving mercy opens us up to the favour and good understanding of God. We get to know the true nature of our heavenly Father through our embracing of God’s mercy. Praise the Lord that it is new every morning! Great is God’s faithfulness!

Receiving truth also opens us up to the favour and good understanding of God. It is so important that we see in the Spirit accurately. In fact, seeing in the Spirit is always accurate sight. Our challenge is to ensure we are in the Spirit when we are looking.

There is a verse that is written about Jesus that Father also wants for our lives too. May it stir something deeply in you today. Here it is:

Luke 2:52 MEV And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and men.

We say, “Yes Lord, do it in us!”
