Good morning people who are kept from sin by following the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Psalms 19:12-14 NIV But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression. May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
For too long I have tried to lead myself in paths of righteousness. I have had limited success.
But this beautiful scripture written by David further reveals the indescribably good heart of God towards us.
David asks God to forgive his hidden faults. I see this as extremely beautiful. If we ask Him to, God is willing to forgive those things that we might not even know are there. What a wonderful God!
And this same God will lead us out of temptation and keep us from willful sins that would seek to try and rule over us. Again, how wonderful and kind and loving is our God! But we do need to invite Him to do this. We do need to ask Him to lead, and truly lead. We need to trust Him to lead, and this is an area that many of us need to continue to grow in – trusting God to lead us.
The result is that the words that we speak and the things that we meditate on in our heart will be pleasing in the sight of the Lord. If God leads, and we follow, He will be glorified! Oh, how special is our God!
He is our rock and He is our redeemer! He is our strength and our portion, both now and forever more. He is the one who purchased us with a great price, an immeasurable price! He is for us and not against us. He is a good and loving and kind Father, King and friend. This is our God!
