#5594 – Let God Guide

Good morning people who stick close to the one who is most wonderful for you.

Psalms 23:3 NIV He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.

One of the biggest growth areas in my life in this season is truly trusting God to lead me in everything. I have always taught it, and I have always “believed” it, but I feel it is dropping deeper into my spirit by the Spirit of God.

There are two things that stand out to me in this well-known and much-loved verse.

Firstly, He is the one who guides me along the right paths. This is a big shift for some of us, and it is a deeper level of revelation for others. God is a better guide than I am! He is a better leader than I am!

In fact, if we go back to the opening words of Jesus when He called His disciples, we will remember they were, “Follow Me.” If we are following Him, that means He is leading us. I know it’s basic, but it’s a game-changer. We were created to follow God’s lead.

The following verse further expounds this wonderfully life-giving truth:

1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

I love how quickly Paul shifts the focus from our temptation to God’s faithful leading and provision. Even in this, we see a key to our freedom: keep the focus on God, who He is and all He has provided.

How closely are you truly following the Lord’s lead in every moment of your day?
