#5439 – Extravagant Generosity

Good morning people who contribute to the work of the Lord on the earth.

Exodus 36:2-7 NIV Then Moses summoned Bezalel and Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the Lord had given ability and who was willing to come and do the work. They received from Moses all the offerings the Israelites had brought to carry out the work of constructing the sanctuary. And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning. So all the skilled workers who were doing all the work on the sanctuary left what they were doing and said to Moses, “The people are bringing more than enough for doing the work the Lord commanded to be done.” Then Moses gave an order and they sent this word throughout the camp: “No man or woman is to make anything else as an offering for the sanctuary.” And so the people were restrained from bringing more, because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work.

Imagine a time when the people of God have more than enough financially to do all that Father has authored! Well, this is what happened in this story!

What a beautiful picture of generosity!

You weren’t created to earn a living for yourself. In fact, God is our provider. This is a deeper truth that many believers need to receive a revelation on.

Our part is stewardship of what Father provides. It truly is that simple.

And part of His provision is to resource His work on the earth through His people.

Many times, this is through the local church. God’s plan includes the local church, planted into a place, to be salt and light, and to demonstrate God’s love and power. The church is not simply a nice community organisation. The church is the supernatural body of Christ!

I thank God for the local church! Jesus loves the local church! The devil hates the local church!

And we have the privilege and the responsibility to give generously into the local church, as together, we desire to see people encounter the glory and the goodness of God.

May the church have more than enough for all that Father authors.
