#5418 – Don’t Deviate

Good morning people who honour the God of the Word and the Word of God.

We have been talking about building according to God’s pattern. Some might say that I’ve said enough about this. However, the Bible repeats certain truths over and over, and it does so because of the importance of what is being said.

This is one of those times.

Exodus 26:30 NIV “Set up the tabernacle according to the plan shown you on the mountain.”

Every part of the tabernacle is to be just as God has said. There are no parts that are to be left to man’s desire and own choosing.

The same is true in our lives. We are now the temple of the Holy Spirit. We don’t get to pick and choose the parts of the Bible that we will obey and the parts that are not convenient or comfortable for us.

Every part is to be fully embraced – this is where the life is.

Exodus 27:8 NIV “Make the altar hollow, out of boards. It is to be made just as you were shown on the mountain.”

Because we don’t think something is important is not the point. God alone determines what should be hollow and what should be solid. God determines what is primary and what is secondary. God determines what is significant and what is insignificant.

And in all these scriptures, there is one recurring theme: Every part is to be built just as God has shown on the mountain of encounter.

Revelation flows from encounter, and encounter is set up best through saturation with the God of the Word and the Word of God.
