Good morning people who believe that God is greater than emptiness and void.

On the surface, the title of this BIY sounds wrong. God is greater than nothing.

You might be thinking, “You mean God is greater than everything, not nothing!”

Go with me to God’s Word and I’ll unpack what I am feeling.

Genesis 1:1-3 NIV In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

The beginning of the earth was formless and empty, and darkness was over the surface of the deep.

Formless means there is no form; nothing. Empty, well it means empty; nothing. Darkness is the absence of light; it is nothing.

And this is what God stepped into, and from nothing, He created everything!

God is greater than nothing!

And this is still true in your life.

You may feel like nothing is happening, or nothing will ever happen. There are some relationships you might be feeling this about, or maybe it’s a job or ministry opportunity. Whatever it is, it is very real to you.

And to you today, I declare once again this simple and profound truth: God is greater than nothing!

If He can speak all of creation into existence from nothing, imagine what He can do in you and for you!
