Good morning people who listen to the repeated words of King Jesus.

John 17:14-16 NIV “I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.”

When Jesus restates something, it is not because He ran out of things to say; He is not short on original material.

When He restates something, it is because it is immensely important for us to hear it. Everything Jesus says is important, but there are times when He knows that we are going to struggle accepting what He says. In these times, He often repeats it or starts with the words, “Truly I tell you.” We need to listen.

Jesus didn’t just say that we are not of this world. He said that we are not of this world any more than He is of this world. Think about this.

Jesus came from the eternal, was born into the natural, and returned to the eternal. Remember, He is Spirit.

And we are created in His image! The truth is, we existed in the eternal mind of Christ (this is a reality, not just a figurative picture), then we were conceived naturally, and one day we will return to the eternal.

Don’t reduce these verses down to a world system. Yes, this is part of it, but the word ‘world’ used here is the word ‘kosmos’. We are not merely human and from this earth.

Oh, I can see some of you struggling with this. So, let’s look at some other scriptures on this tomorrow.
