Good morning people who are safe in the hands of a loving God.

John 17:14-15 NIV “I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.

In this world, darkness is getting darker, and believing the Word of God comes at a price. We need to understand and accept this.

Jesus was praying about this, and thankfully, He didn’t stop with the declaration of difficulty! Look at what He declared next.

Jesus prayed to His Father and asked Him to protect us from the evil one. We need to stop and meditate on this today.

God and the devil are not equal opposites, in power or in any other way. God is immeasurably greater than the devil! Remember, the devil is a created being and he is no match for God!

And it is God the Father who is protecting us from the devil! Now this is good news!!

Yes, bad things might happen to us, persecution will come, and in this world we will have tribulation. But that’s no surprise because Jesus told us ahead of time that this will happen. In fact, some may even lose their life as a result of honouring God and His Word.

But even in death, a Christian is protected by the Father and they enter straight into His presence for all eternity!! The devil can’t win in the life of a submitted believer!

Maybe today, you need to picture yourself in the Father’s hands or even sitting on His knee in glory. This is how close we are to Him, and it’s our proximity to Him that is our protection.
