#5192 – Stay Close to God

Good morning people who stay in the presence of God even with your questions.

John 16:16-18 NIV Jesus went on to say, “In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me.” At this, some of his disciples said to one another, “What does he mean by saying, ‘In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me,’ and ‘Because I am going to the Father’?” They kept asking, “What does he mean by ‘a little while’? We don’t understand what he is saying.”

The disciples of Jesus walked with Him for several years. They knew Him intimately and yet they had questions. They didn’t understand everything that He said.

The same will be true in our lives.

Even if you have walked with God a long time, you will have questions. Not everything will make sense. We will read things in the Bible that might raise questions. We will see something in church life that might raise questions. We will hear a prophetic word and we might have questions.

I feel to say to you, don’t fear the questions.

But I also really feel to say to you, stay close to God when you have questions. This is what I feel is the main focus from Father for you and I today.

The disciples had questions, but they stayed close to Jesus.

Don’t step back, step away or close up your heart to God when things don’t make sense. Don’t retreat from leaning in to Him.

It sounds simple, and you might even say, “Of course!”, but the reality is, many do step back from God in times of questions.

Your safeguard in your questions is your proximity to Jesus. Stay close dear friends, stay close.
