Good morning people who remember that our God knows everything.
John 16:19 NIV Jesus saw that they wanted to ask him about this, so he said to them, “Are you asking one another what I meant when I said, ‘In a little while you will see me no more, and then after a little while you will see me’?”
One of the things that is most comforting about our relationship with God is that He is all knowing; He is omniscient.
I like the way David wrote about it in the Psalms:
Psalms 139:1-6 NIV You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.
For many, God knowing everything is a scary thought. But in truth, it’s not!
Think about it like this. God knows everything about us, yet He chose to send His Son and die for us! God knows every thought, every word and every action, and yet He hems us in behind and before.
This is wonderful imagery that David uses and he even says, “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.”
Yes, God knows you – intimately – and He also loves you deeply.
My prayer for you today is this: Reach out towards the God who created you in order to love you. He’s not far away and He is for you, not against you.
