Good morning people who are in love with the God of joy
Galatians 5:22-23 NIV But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Joy is found in the presence of God; in the present-ness of God.
As Paul so wonderful modelled to us all, you can be in a prison, beaten, mistreated, accused, alone, and yet still find your joy in the closeness of God. From prison, Paul writes:
Philippians 4:4 NIV Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
It’s about what we choose to give our focus to the most. King David put it this way:
Psalms 23:4 NIV Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
It is never about minimising what people are going through – ourselves or others. But it is most definitely about elevating the power of the Person of God Himself who never leaves us and never forsakes us! This is where the source of our joy is found; in the presence of Love.
