#4418 – Longevity & Health

Good morning people who watch your life and your doctrine closely

Paul writes to his son in the faith Timothy and exhorts him to live and to minister in a way that glorifies God. His words of instruction are words of wisdom for every Believer.

1 Timothy 4:12-16 NIV Dont let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you. Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.

There are too many stories of great men and women of God who run so well for a time but then something happens that causes them to step back from the calling of God. Very rarely is it because of a doctrinal issue, but rather, most are because of a personal issue.

‘Watch your life and doctrine closely’ is such great advice for every person today. Keep short accounts with God and people. Give yourself to the things God puts His seal of approval on and avoid those things that He says are harmful. Yes, it takes effort, but in doing so we will finish our race well and strong.
