Good morning people who respond to God fully at all times

Genesis 22:11 NIV But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied.

‘Holding nothing back’ responds to God in the same way after an impossibly difficult instruction as it does before an impossibly difficult instruction from God.

I love this response by Abraham and I am deeply challenged by it.

The first time God called Abraham in this passage, Abraham responded with a “Whatever you want God”; a posture of “Yes Lord!”

Then he got the impossibly difficult instruction to sacrifice his son; the potential for the fulfilment of God’s promise.

Now God is calling his name again.

Would you respond the same way after what happened last time?

Abraham did and his son was saved! But he didn’t know that this would be the result. God might have been calling Abraham’s name to tell him to do something else devastatingly difficult.

Oh, how I want the faith and the response of Abraham! Help us Lord.

‘Holding nothing back’ does not put conditions on our response to God.
