#3864 – As God Is

Good morning people who don’t settle for an incomplete picture of God

Here’s a prayer I prayed recently:

“Father, this year I don’t want to narrow You or Your ways down to a concept, a principle, or some religious ritual. I don’t want to confine You or reduce You to my religious or historic paradigm or tradition. You are infinitely bigger and better than anything I’ve ever known and even thought. Father, You are God and I want to come up to see You as You are, not try and bring You down to my level of understanding or desire.”

I will never outgrow my desperate need to live continually in the truth of one of my favourite and often quoted verses. Here it is again:

Ephesians 1:17 NIV I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better.

The longer I walk with God (I didn’t say ‘the longer I am a Christian’), the more He brings into clarity Who He really is and what He is really like. I love this and I desire it more than ever.

I pray you will join me in this pursuit and this prayer. May we all see God as He is and know Him better.
