Good morning people who receive your desires from God

Psalm 37:4 NIV Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.

You cannot rightfully or accurately separate the first part of this verse from the second.

Let me explain.

It’s not right to say, “God will give me the desires of my heart”, if we are not living a life focused on ‘delighting in Him and His ways’.

If our focus is ‘self’ and ‘we want what we want’, this scripture is not for you. It’s really not.

The truth of this verse is this:

When we live a life of delighting in God, He will see the good soil of our hearts, and then He will take His desires from His heart and plant them into ours – ‘He will give you the desires of your heart’.

It’s not about fulfilment of our desires – it’s about placement of His desires.

And it all happens as a result of delighting in Him.
