#3609 – Running Away

Good morning people who don’t run away from God Who calls people

I feel by the Spirit of God that I am writing on something that is very deep and real to some of you today. So, please allow God’s goodness and kindness to lead you to where He wants to take you.

Jonah 1:3 NIV But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord.

Yesterday we talked about Jonah not liking or accepting what God told him to do. Today, we see him take it a step further:

Sometimes people try to run away from what God has told them to do.

The truth is, sometimes we physically run away from being in a place that God has sent us to. It could be a church, a marriage, a job, a calling, an assignment, or even a difficult situation (don’t forget Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil – see Matthew 4:1).

I feel to stop and ask you a direct and personal question today. Here it is:

“Are you in the place that God has sent you to, or have you run away?”

Tomorrow, I want to lean into something further that I see in this verse.
