#3606 – Jonah’s Story

Good morning people who learn lessons from God’s Word

The Bible is God’s Word. Its primary purpose is to reveal to us what God is like. But secondary to this, it also empowers us to live a life worthy of the wonderful calling to be a friend of God.

Sometimes the examples that we see of people in the Bible are positive. We read their stories and we are encouraged to ‘imitate them as they imitate Christ’ (1 Corinthians 11:1).

But then sometimes the examples that we see are more examples of what not to do. For me, the Book of Jonah fits more into this category, especially regarding prophetic ministry, but not exclusively.

One morning recently, Father told me to read this Book three times in a row. So I did. And as I saturated myself in this Book, I was gripped by the flow of what I saw.

Since then, Father has continued to bring it back to my mind, and I feel He wants me to step through this Book over the next few weeks. So, let’s do this together and have our hearts open to what Father wants to say.

Before we launch into this tomorrow, I encourage you to take a little time, grab a cuppa, and read through the short Book of Jonah in one sitting. May you see what Father shows you, and then let’s enjoy some meditation together.

God bless you my friends.
