Good morning people who have ears to hear what God wants to say

Jonah 1:1 NIV The word of the Lord came to Jonah son of Amittai.

Here’s the first thing I want to say from the Book of Jonah:

God still speaks to people.

Now, most of us know that God spoke to people in Bible times, but unfortunately and sadly, some Believers don’t believe that He still speaks to people today.

Recently I was speaking to someone who doesn’t believe God still speaks to people; he believes this has ceased. He had moved interstate and I asked him if he was happy to be where he had moved to. He responded by saying that he didn’t really enjoy it, but he knew that God wanted him there.

Now maybe you can see the irony here, and I personally think it is sad. The truth is, that ‘knowing that God wanted him here’ could only be known if God had spoken to him. Sure, it may not have been audible, and it obviously wasn’t through writing on a wall or through a donkey – but it was God speaking nonetheless.

God speaks in different ways to people. But the point I feel to make clear today is this: God still speaks to people.
