#3285 – Jump On Board

Good morning people who grab hold of all that God has for you

John 13:5-9 NIV After that, He poured water into a basin and began to wash His disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around Him. He came to Simon Peter, who said to Him, “Lord, are You going to wash My feet?” Jesus replied, “You do not realise now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” “No,” said Peter, “You shall never wash My feet.” Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with Me.” “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”

Our starting point can be “God wouldn’t do that”. Peter felt this when the Saviour of the world was about to wash his feet.

But the truth is, sometimes God does things in different ways than we expect.

I like the shift in Peter’s words. He starts with “No way!” when He doesn’t understand and when he doesn’t think it was right.

But as soon as he heard Jesus say this was His will and His way, he went to the other extreme and said, “I’ll take everything that You’ll give me!”

“When we see God is behind something that we previously opposed, do we jump on board fully and completely surrendered?”
