#2920 – Keep Listening

Good morning people who remember the journey that got them to where they are today

I’m sure many of you know the story of Queen Esther. She was a ‘nobody’ by the world’s standards, and yet rose to prominence when she became the Queen.

Throughout her life, her uncle Mordecai was the voice of counsel to her. In part, it was through his counsel that Esther found herself in a place of influence.

“So how does Esther treat Mordecai once she has ‘made it’ big?”

Esther 2:20 (NIV) But Esther had kept secret her family background and nationality just as Mordecai had told her to do, for she continued to follow Mordecai’s instructions as she had done when he was bringing her up.

Today’s BIY is a little different. I feel to ask you a question:

“How do you treat the people who have helped you become who you are today, and have gotten you to where you are today?”

Too many people ‘move on’ and forget how they got to where they are.

For me personally, my natural parents are also my spiritual parents. Their counsel, advice and wisdom throughout my 43 years has empowered me to be the leader I am today. I will forever honour them and I will listen to them now as much as I did before I moved into a position of leadership.

May the Lord speak to you what He wants you to hear today.
