Good morning people who come back to the Lord and receive what they need

There are so many profound truths in the Word of God. Here is one that, if applied, has the power to lift our spirits to the heights that God invites us to live in:

Psalm 116:7 (NIV) Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.

True rest is not just the ‘absence of work’ but ‘receiving from God’. God is the Giver of rest. This is what Jesus said:

Matthew 11:28 (NIV) Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Many of us have received rest from God at times in the past. We have known what it is to ‘lean into God’ and to ‘receive what we need from Him’. But then life got complicated and difficulty seemed to envelop us. Rest now eludes us, as does peace and joy.

I pray God’s wonderful truth empowers your life today: Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.
