#2316 – Shame Off You

Good morning people who live in the freedom of Jesus Christ

Psalm 25:3-5 (NIV) No one who hopes in You will ever be put to shame, but shame will come on those who are treacherous without cause. Show me Your ways, Lord, teach me Your paths. Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are God my Savior, and my hope is in You all day long.

Following God never ends in shame – never.

The truth is, it may end in trial and tribulation, it may end in opposition and persecution, it may end in loss of material possessions and lack in the eyes of the world, but it will never end in shame.

Our God is a God Who removes shame off His people. A friend of ours, Pastor Martin Steel, wrote a book called ‘Shame Off You’ (see below for more details). This is the heartbeat of God. Shame, guilt, condemnation and accusation is never something God puts on His people. Instead, He puts on us robes of righteousness, a crown of beauty and a garment of praise! That sounds better than shame!

Although this is legally the inheritance of all of God’s people, we need to position ourselves to receive it and to walk in it. Part of this positioning is found in the rest of this scripture.

God responds to hearts that are turned towards Him. He loves to show us His ways because His ways are always best for us. He loves to teach us His paths and to guide us into His truth because He doesn’t want us to stumble around without direction or vision. This is our Good God!

So today, maybe it’s time to check your position: “Is it towards God or towards self?”

It’s time to pursue God and to seek Him first.
