Good morning people who pause and think about Who God is

Ephesians 1:17 (NIV) I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better.

My passion and life purpose is to ‘know God better and reveal God more’.

One of the ways we discover what God is like more, is to look for Him in His Word. The reality is, we don’t often see Him in His Word as much as He is there, because we primarily read the Word through the lens of what is required of us. This is something we would do well to flip around; let’s look for God in His Word more than look at what we need to do.

Then the key is to meditate – to give focused thought to – what we discover about God in His Word. Our lives would flourish more if we thought about the Lord more than we thought about ourselves.

And so for a season in BIY, I want to just talk about the Lord, not us.

For some of us, this is right up our alley. We will read about God and enjoy thinking about Him. Perhaps a smile will come across our face because of how we feel when we think about the Lord.

But for some of us, maybe you will read it and say, “Well that’s nice, but what am I meant to do with this?” For you, maybe God wants you to come into a whole new level of delight in Who God is, without instantly turning the attention back on you and what you need to do. Sometimes it’s not about us doing anything, but rather, enjoying the One Who is Everything.

May we all ‘know God better and reveal Him more’.
