Good morning people with a compassionate God,
Yesterday I made this statement: When we ask God to forgive us, we are completely forgiven, but there are still consequences for sins, yes even sins that have been forgiven.
Now I feel compelled to say something that you need to take as evidence of God’s amazing heart for humanity, and not as licence to sin:
God can take a consequence and turn it into a testimony and trophy of His grace.
Romans 6:1-2 What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?
We don’t keep on sinning because of the abundance of God’s grace or the redemptive nature of Who He is. This way of thinking is dishonouring and will prove to be very damaging.
But some of you have already gone down a path that has resulted in severe consequences. You may wonder if it’s too late. You may wonder if God’s grace can turn your situation around.
I declare to you today that God can take what the enemy intended for evil, and He can turn it for good! I declare that even your wrong choices can be redeemed by the amazing grace of our compassionate God! Sure, life may never be as it was, but you can honour God for the rest of your days despite what you have done.
God’s grace is greater than our sin…and it’s even greater than sin’s consequences.
God is a redemptive God.
