#1252 – A River

Good morning people through whom God flows

(By David McCracken)

Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV) But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

We have been sharing how the “wounds” of our life, when healed by His grace, become a source of hope to others so they too can experience that healing grace.

Jesus said that “out of our belly will flow rivers of living water”. He was, of course speaking of the Holy Spirit and the redemptive life that He gives us by His indwelling presense.

We can receive so much from God yet the awesome but undeniable truth is that unless that river of His grace flows out of us into the lives of others it can never bring forth life.

It is one thing to receive your healing but that healing then must flow not just to you but through you, into the lives of others.

If it doesn’t, not only do we obstruct it from reaching its destination as God intended it to but, within ourselves, the very grace and revelation we have received, loses its healing power. We have corrupted the purity of what we have received by our selfish retaining of it for our own needs.

It is only the selfless pouring out of His love, compassion and grace to others that empowers us, within ourselves, to walk in ongoing joy and freedom.

I rejoice in God’s redemptive grace.
