Good morning people who live in the light

John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

God is light and He hates everything to do with darkness. In fact, when God created light, He immediately separated light from darkness.

Genesis 1:4 God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness.

Unfortunately we live in a time when many people, including many Christians, mix light and darkness together and believe it is harmless. It is not.

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

When God calls us into the light, it is also a calling to leave darkness.

John 12:46 I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.

Mankind has a leaning towards darkness, a leaning that we must be careful not to partake of, because it is never harmless.

John 3:19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.

God tells us not to have anything to do with darkness. Yet I believe there is a real battle on in our world today; a battle to portray darkness as light. Sure it is not ugly, in fact it is portrayed as the nice side, or even the white side of that which is by definition evil, but to God it is still darkness.

And here’s something to consider. Many people who watch entertainment that is dark, including horror movies and movies about witchcraft, the occult, vampires, werewolves and other evil things, often struggle with fear. And then we ask God to take away the fear and quote scriptures about God not giving it to us.

May I suggest we don’t feed on darkness that ignites the fear in the first place.

It’s time for the light to be called light again. It’s time for us to be children of the light and to feed ourselves on that which is light.
