#1024 – Good Friday

Good morning people Jesus Christ died for

What are your thoughts about Good Friday, about Easter? Do you see today as a great opportunity to have a day off work or is it something more than that for you?

What does Good Friday mean to God?

I believe with all my heart that it is a defining day in the history of the world…it is the day that Jesus, the Son of God, died.

As I type this, it sounds terrible and devastating. But I am compelled to press on with this thought.

The incredibly amazing news of Easter Sunday, resurrection Sunday, is only what it is because of the tragedy of Good Friday. I don’t know why it is called Good Friday but I know that it must have been one of the most difficult days for God in all of eternity.

Good Friday was a day of separation. God the Father and God the Son suffered incredible heartache as the sins of the entire world were placed on Jesus Christ. God the Father Who is holy turned His head as the weight of sin was so repulsive – your sin, my sin, the sin of every human – it was all placed on Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Jesus felt completely alone and separated from the Father He loved so much.

Matthew 27:46 About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?”
