Good morning people who hear the right things
Do you know how important it is to listen to the right things?
Luke 8:16-18 No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open. Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken from him.
We all want our lives to make a positive difference; we want our light to shine.
It’s interesting to note a small phrase in this powerful passage that is part of the key to this happening:
…therefore consider carefully how you listen.
Hmmm, interesting.
The fruitfulness of my life is linked to what I choose to listen to. The reality is I do not always have a choice on what I hear but I do always have a choice on what I listen to.
Many people say things contrary to the Word of God. Will I choose to listen to and live life by that, or by what God’s Word says?
Will I choose the people who speak into my life wisely, or will I carelessly believe everything I hear?
Will I allow the facts of my circumstances to be the prominent voice in my head, or will I allow the truth of God’s Word dictate my life?
Will I allow my life to become cluttered, noisy and busy, or will I choose to be still and hear the gentle whisper of the Holy Spirit?
What are you listening to?
It’s your choice.
