Good morning people who choose wisely
Luke 6:39-40 He (Jesus) also told them this parable: “Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher.”
Who influences your life? The reality is someone does.
Jesus tells us to be careful who is leading us. Why? Because He knows that we reproduce after our own kind. Every part of God’s awesome creation follows this same pattern: like produces like.
It’s great to hang around and learn from people who are further along the spiritual and natural journey of life. It’s great to always be learning…but we must ensure we are learning from the right source.
The analogy here is about a blind person. Someone who cannot see needs someone who can see to lead them. Otherwise both of them will fall over things. The purpose of the leading is to avoid the pitfalls that are scattered all through life.
And so it is true with our lives. We need to learn from people who can see the pitfalls in life more than we can; people who have maybe learned from experience and who can help us to not make the same mistakes. Maybe they haven’t fallen into a certain pit that could potentially trip us up, and that too is a reason to learn from them. What have they done to avoid the dangers of life?
I really encourage you to examine who influences your life. Ensure it’s someone who can lead you well; someone who can help you walk in a God-honouring and people-honouring way.
