#954 – Not Easy

Good morning people committed to God’s way

Mark 8:31-33 He (Jesus) then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that He must be killed and after three days rise again. He spoke plainly about this, and Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. But when Jesus turned and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter. “Get behind me, Satan!” He said. “You do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.”

The easy way is not always God’s way.

We know this but do we really accept it? Many people still struggle with the reality that life is not always easy. But this doesn’t change the reality that for us all, there will be tough times.

I believe we need to be careful how we speak to people in their difficult season. It’s easy to say everything will be alright, but the truth is things might not work out as we would like or expect them to. We cannot always guarantee a happy ending.

The best thing for us to do is point people to God Himself. He is always faithful, even when things are going terribly. He is always with us, even when we feel so alone. He is always sovereign, even when it feels like life is spiralling out of control. He is the anchor, and the best thing we can do is help people to stay connected to Him during their challenge.
