#923 – Do Good

Good morning people committed to others

We’re meditating on the following passage at the moment.

Luke 6:27- 31 But I tell you who hear Me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. If someone takes your cloak, do not stop him from taking your tunic. Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back. Do to others as you would have them do to you.

Jesus’ first instruction to us is to love our enemies.

His second instruction, or maybe an elaboration of the first instruction, is to do good to those who hate you.

Now hate is a pretty strong word. In this passage it means to detest and to persecute. That’s intense. Have you ever been on the receiving end of this? It’s not nice
