#891 – Distractions

Good morning people who trust in God

(By Kevin Forlong)

2 Kings 2:11 As they were walking along and talking together, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire appeared and separated the two of them, and Elijah went up to heaven in a whirlwind.

A chariot and horses of fire appeared, it separated them, and Elijah went up in whirlwind. He did not go up in the chariot, it was a distraction.

As a normal part of our journey with God, when a new day is dawning it is a time of moving shadows and mist. It is a time of a mixture of darkness and light. And at times we may well be asking ourselves, “Is it God or the devil?”

It is a time when you have to move very carefully and purposefully. It is a time when it is easy to become distracted, confused and lose your way but you must still continue to do the journey!

In the midst of the uncertainty of the moment it is easy to become fearful and pull back to something that is familiar and comfortable. If we do that we are never able to move into what God wants to bring about in and through us.

This is where we can find ourselves on this journey with God. As prophetic people who are seeking to move on with God, at times we are particularly vulnerable.

People with vision who are simply doing what the Father wants them to, can still lose their way. cf Joseph
