#5816 – Miracles At Home

Good morning people who believe that God wants to do miracles in your family.

Mark 1:29-31 NIV As soon as they left the synagogue, they went with James and John to the home of Simon and Andrew. Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they immediately told Jesus about her. So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them.

Jesus had finished His ministry for the day. He had preached in the synagogue, and while doing so, He had set a man free by casting demons out of Him. It had been a fruitful time of ministry. Now He was going to Simon and Andrew’s house for a quiet meal.

When they arrived, the disciples told Jesus that Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever. This is where I feel the Lord wants to speak to us today.

Jesus was anointed to heal the sick. It was not the church meeting that was anointed. It was not the ministry time that was anointed. No! Jesus was anointed; therefore, Jesus could fulfil the Father’s plans and desires wherever He went!

Jesus was also living on mission. Therefore, His focus wasn’t clocking on and clocking off. Jesus did not separate professional ministry time from His own personal time. No! Every moment was an opportunity for a miracle, and every miracle was a sign that the kingdom of God had come amongst people!

I love how Jesus healed Simon’s mother-in-law. The Bible tells us that He simply went to her, took her hand and helped her up, then the fever left her. There was no need of calling the band back on stage to worship for an hour, and there was no need to speak in tongues until He felt the anointing. Jesus just released healing. That was it.

I want to go back to the setting of this miracle. it was in the house of one of His disciples and the sick person was one of their family members. I want to encourage us to pray at home for the people who are close and dear to us.

Today is a day of miracles! Do it Lord I pray, for the glory of our Father in heaven and as a testimony that draws people to the Father’s heart.
