#5558 – Power of Testimony

Good morning people who tell others about what the Lord has done for you.

John 4:39 NIV Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.”

I love this verse!

The Samaritan woman who met Jesus at the well had her life turned around that day. In her brokenness, she met the Living Water who truly satisfies. This precious woman had been looking for love from others her entire life, only to be constantly disappointed. We know this by the fact that she had been married five times and was currently living with yet another man.

And into this reality steps Jesus. Not with condemnation, but with a word of knowledge, coupled with love, grace and truth.

The result of encountering Jesus and hearing from the Father through Him was that this woman was compelled to run back to her town and testify about this Man who ‘told me everything I ever did.’ Again, no condemnation, but rather, a loving invitation into intimacy with the one who created her to be loved. It’s so beautiful.

And this story is repeated every day. God is still touching people, revealing truth, and changing lives. And as it was in this story above, most of the time this happens through believers testifying to what God has done in them!

This was so important to Jesus that He prayed this prayer before He returned to His Father:

John 17:20 NIV “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message.

Has God touched your life?

Are you telling others about what He has done?
