#5450 – Greater Clarity

Good morning people who prioritise the spiritual over the natural.

Colossians 3:1-4 NIV Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

In a time when Christians and the world alike are seeking to understand more, there needs to be a holy warning to be careful what we give our attention to.

This is what I hear the Lord say:

We don’t need greater clarity on natural things as much as we need greater insight into spiritual things.

I like the distinction between clarity and insight. I believe in clarity, and I believe the Lord does too. But clarity truly comes when we have divinely-given insight.

In other words, it’s not about learning more things and studying more books. It’s not about scrolling through more social media or searching on more websites. All of these can be used of God if the source of the content is godly – truly godly, not just godly in name.

But even this can be about natural understanding. This can be a good doorway into insight, but equally so (or perhaps more so), this can be the greatest enemy to insight.

It’s time for us to receive from the Spirit of wisdom and revelation!

It’s time for the Holy Spirit to become our teacher as we saturate ourselves in God’s Word.
