#5421 – Intercessory Prayer

Good morning people who stand in the gap on behalf of other people.

Exodus 28:29-30 NIV Whenever Aaron enters the Holy Place, he will bear the names of the sons of Israel over his heart on the breastpiece of decision as a continuing memorial before the Lord. Also put the Urim and the Thummim in the breastpiece, so they may be over Aaron’s heart whenever he enters the presence of the Lord. Thus Aaron will always bear the means of making decisions for the Israelites over his heart before the Lord.

I know that this language and imagery is deep, but let’s lean in to hear what the Spirit wants to say to us today.

I believe it is time for us to bear the names of those we love over our heart as we enter the holy place of fellowship with God. Lifting others up in prayer makes an eternal difference.

What would happen if our decisions had the welfare of others in the forefront of our hearts and minds?

I really feel this prophetically speaks about intercession. This is about us standing in the gap on behalf of others.

Yes, it is absolutely true that people will make their own decisions, and they are accountable before God for their own decisions. We must not take responsibility for what others choose to do or not to do. (Some of you need to release yourself from the ungodly burden of being responsible for others).

However, our intercession has incredible power in the realm of the Spirit. As we pray from a position of delegated authority, and as we declare God’s Word over people’s lives, something significant and eternal is happening in the Spirit.

Our prayers release the Holy Spirit to move, to reveal and to transform! This is the truth!

May we increase in our prophetic partnership through intercession for others.
