#5402 – Longer Roads

Good morning people who are grateful for the protection of your loving Father.

Exodus 13:17-18 NIV When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea. The Israelites went up out of Egypt ready for battle.”

Our God is so good to us that sometimes He leads us on a longer road because He is protecting us.

The devil is legally defeated – this is absolutely true. In Christ, we have victory over him.

But let’s be honest. There are times in our lives when we aren’t as strong as we should be. There are times when we are distracted or discouraged, and a battle with an enemy might not be best for us in that moment.

God knows us well, and God is so for us that at times He protects us from an enemy that we don’t see or even know is there. Sometimes this protection is the reason for delays and detours.

If something has not happened as quickly as you would have liked, maybe Father has been protecting you by taking you the long way around.

You can trust Him my friend. Stay close to Him and let Him lead you while He loves you.
