Good morning people who are empowered through saying YES to Jesus.
Luke 4:1, 14 NIV Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness…Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside.
Between Jesus being full of the Holy Spirit and being led by the Spirit, and Him returning in the power of the Spirt, was His repeated victory over the attacks and temptations of the devil.
Don’t fear what will make you stronger in the Spirit.
Don’t just see what the devil is doing, but see what God is doing in your difficult season.
Every time we say YES to God, we are saying NO to the devil. And conversely, every time we say NO to the devil, we are saying YES to God. Our YES and our NO are so important.
The devil was legally defeated by Jesus through the cross and resurrection. He is no match for the people of God who are submitted to the Lordship and authority of Jesus!
This truth does not diminish the intensity of Satan’s attacks – they can feel all-consuming. But it is the truth which must be our foundation for living in victory.
May the following well-known scriptures be a source of encouragement and power to you today:
1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
James 4:7 NIV Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Luke 10:19 NIV I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.
Christ in you is stronger than the devil against you! Now this is the truth.
