#5347 – Holy Anger

Good morning people who hate what God hates and love what God loves.

Sometimes a lack of anger is evidence of a lack of the Spirit of God.

1 Samuel 11:6 NIV When Saul heard their words, the Spirit of God came powerfully upon him, and he burned with anger.

Sometimes the evidence of the Spirit of God on someone is a holy anger against what would try to destroy, hurt or maim God’s people.

In the case of Jesus turning over the tables in the temple, this was holy anger as the Spirit of God came upon Him.

I wonder how much of what the Spirit of God is doing is seen incorrectly by the people of God?

Because of the error of some Christians behaving badly “in the name of God”, too many have stepped back from a holy and righteous anger of sin. This is to our own detriment and it is robbing the world of an encounter with truth.

If God hates something, we should hate it. If God loves something, we should love it.

It truly is about having the mind of Christ, and this is empowered through intimacy with Him and saturation in His Word.
