Good morning people who are never left alone by the God of perfect love.

John 17:11 NIV “I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.”

I love the fact that Jesus didn’t fulfil His mission then just leave us and say, “I’ve done My part. Now it’s up to you. You’re on your own.”

Jesus cared enough to die for us while He was on this earth, and He cared enough to ask His Father to protect us once He returned to heaven. What a beautiful Saviour!

The word protect here means ‘to watch over, to guard from injury or loss’. And this is what our Lord Jesus Christ asked our holy Father to do for us!

The connection point between the Father’s protection and our needs is the name of Jesus. There truly is power in this precious name!

The name of Jesus is not just a name. In other words, the power is not in the five letters that form a word. Many other people have been called Jesus.

The power of the name of Jesus is who the person of Jesus is! The eternal Word, the Son of the Father, the Saviour of the world – this is who Jesus is and there is power in the name of Jesus!
