Good morning people who walk with the unlimited God of heaven and earth.
John 14:12 NIV “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”
I can fully understand why Jesus started this verse of truth with the words, “Very truly I telly you.” Jesus knew His disciples would struggle to accept His next words. He also knew I would struggle to accept His next words (I’m just being honest with you my friends).
Jesus told His disciples that they will do the works that He has been doing, and they will do even greater things than His works. Let’s start here. I think the appropriate response is, “What?! How?!”
In this same verse, Jesus tells us how this will happen, and He also tells us why this will happen.
The increased supernatural works of the Father being done on earth will happen through the disciples of Jesus as we believe in Jesus. In other words, the focus is not (and never was) on us, but on Jesus; it’s not to be on our lack, but on Jesus’ sufficiency. Our life is to be a continuation of His life. Our ministry is to be a continuation of His ministry!
Why? Because Jesus went back to the Father and the Father rightfully did not want His expression on earth to stop when Jesus left! This is all about the glory, honour and majesty of the Father being seen on the earth!
Jesus brought the Father glory on earth by walking in supernatural miraculous power. Now we are privileged to also bring the Father glory on earth by walking as Jesus walked.
Increased miracles are one piece of evidence that Father is at work through His children on the earth.
