Good morning people who place a high value on getting wisdom from God.

Proverbs 4:7 NIV The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.

I can picture the writer saying, “Do you want wisdom? Then get it; go after it, make it your priority and your pursuit, and don’t accept excuses from yourself on why you can’t get it. Be willing to pay the price, whatever that price is. Wisdom is not for the wayward, the complacent or the lazy. Nor is it for the lukewarm. Passionate people go after wisdom and they don’t stop until they get it. It is there to be found, but it is only found in humility. So go after it!”

In the NKJV, it reads like this:

Proverbs 4:7 NKJV Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.

The word principal here means the first in place, time, order or rank. Wisdom is the most important thing.

Wisdom comes from God, and wisdom is what we should live our life by.
