#4729 – Hungry for God

Good morning people who stir up your hunger for God

I feel to ask you this question today:

How is your hunger for God?

In the natural, hunger comes when you haven’t eaten for a while. If you have just had a three course meal, the chances are that you will not be hungry afterwards. The more you have just eaten, the less hungry you will be.

In the spiritual, I find it is often the opposite. Oh, the joy of tasting the goodness of God, and in so doing, deeply desire to taste more! When I spend extended time feasting on God’s Word, I finish with an increased appetite for more!

Matthew 5:6 NIV Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

When we hunger and thirst for God and the things of God, we are filled.

But this ‘being filled’ does not mean we don’t want anymore. No, this ‘being filled’ means that we are filled to overflowing, and part of what we are filled with is a further, greater, and deeper desire to be filled even more!

In God, ‘being filled’ is having an insatiable appetite for more!

So, permit me to ask you again:

How is your hunger for God going?
