The success of our day is measured in how well we keep in step with the Holy Spirit.
The success of our day is not measured by how many tasks we achieve or by how many items we tick off our to-do list.
The success of our day is not in how many places we go or how many people we connect with.
The success of our day is not even measured by how much we serve God by doing things for Him.
The success of our day is measured in how well we keep in step with the Holy Spirit.
The moment we make it about something else, we get into performance mode.
Natural success and spiritual success can be two very different things. In fact, trying to get as many things done as possible can often be the enemy to doing what God wants you to do.
The scriptures are filled with times Jesus kept in step with the Spirit, and as a result, didn’t make it to “the intended destination” (as people would perceive it).
The key point is not the quantity of what we do, or the lack of quantity, but it is our obedience to the Holy Spirit, including His little whispers when we have other things planned.
May we all be people who keep in step with the Holy Spirit, and as a result, enjoy the smile of our Father.
