#4638 – Strange Statements

Good morning people who obey God even when it’s not comfortable

Hebrews 11:28 NIV By faith he (Moses) kept the Passover and the application of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel.

Sometimes God’s protection on our lives comes through never-before-experienced or unconventional ways.

We know this story well and and we accept it. But try (as best as we can) to take ourselves back to this time when many strange signs and wonders were taking place. God was bringing great disaster on the Egyptians, and the Israelites must have been wondering, “What’s next?”

Next was an announcement from Moses to the Israelites to kill an animal, cover the doorposts with blood, and stay inside so that the angel of death passed by. It sounds like something from a movie, but it was very real.

And those who accepted this word by faith, obeyed, and they and all in their household were saved!! PRAISE GOD!!

It took great faith for Moses to make such a strange declaration to God’s people, and it took great faith for the people of God to listen to the words of God thought Moses, and to obey all He said.

So, here’s my thought for today:

When God speaks something strange to you today – whether directly or through a God-appointed leader – what is your response to God?

May we all have the faith of Moses and the faith of the Israelites.
