#4149 – The Cloud

Good morning people hungry for the presence of God

People dwelling outside of the presence of God perceive things differently to those dwelling in the presence of God. Moses and the children of Israel followed God; they were Believers in our current way of thinking. Yet they saw things so differently.

Exodus 24:15-18 When Moses went up on the mountain, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord settled on Mount Sinai. For six days the cloud covered the mountain, and on the seventh day the Lord called to Moses from within the cloud. To the Israelites the glory of the Lord looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain. Then Moses entered the cloud as he went on up the mountain. And he stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

The cloud of glory covered the mountain and those on it, yet the Israelites saw it as something that consumed.

I think many people view God the same way today and this is not limited to Unbelievers.

Many Believers and Unbelievers primarily see God as a consuming fire. They see God as demanding and angry. They see Him as harsh and ready to zap us the moment we do something wrong. Many people see God exactly the opposite of Who He is.

I want to say to you today that God is much nicer than you think. God is primarily a covering cloud to us and not a consuming fire.

God covers our rags for robes of righteousness! All that we lack is replaced with all that God is. Wow!
